This was the worst customer experience I have ever had and I cant imagine anyone continuing to support this business with this knowledge. I have already contacted the BBB and and working with a lawyer to get the rest of the money he owes me. Be careful of this business! Go to Varsity Liquors where they at least are always polite!

The following day, I check my bank statements as I always do and see a charge for $340.00. Obviously, there must have ben some mistake. I calmly walk over to the liquor store and try to remedy the situation. I walked into the store, gathered the same items I had purchased the day before, placed them on the register and asked how much they would cost. The man responded $34.00. I then began to show him my bank statements and he became rather hostile. Both the owner, his wife and another worker now all confronted me and were yelling at me. They told me that I made a mistake and that I was irresponsible and and then they resorted to name calling. All I wanted was the money that was owed to me, and the owner was resistant to admitting that he had made a mistake.

The owners are among the most unpleasant retailers I've ever met. I stopped in to buy a six pack of craft beer and the owner tried to charge a price higher than marked on the shelf. When I challenged him about this he became irate and explained that he couldn't possibly keep all his prices accurate. After I pointed out that it was illegal he relented and sold it to me for the marked price. Zero sense of gratitude for my business. I will never go back. Please go somewhere else.

When in any service industry, it is the responsibility of the business to ensure that the customer receive a satisfactory experience in their store. I live in the town of Princeton and often go to Varsity Liquors. For whatever reason, I felt like going to a different liquor store for a bottle of wine for my dinner. Upon entering the establishment, all eyes were heavily focused on me. As I navigated the store I was closely followed by 2 employees, who neither offered recommendations or information about certain wines. Instead, I felt that I was being treated like a potential criminal. All this while, the 3 employees were screaming instructions to each other in a language that I could not understand, but it became clear that their exchanges were in regards to how they wanted each person to follow me around the store. I must say, I am a middle school teacher, showing up to a liquor store in a suit and tie, I can not see what could have ben suspicious about me.

This store is seemingly run by an incompetent child. The owners should be embarrassed to run such a terrible business in Princeton of all places, literally THE MOST UNPLEASANT STORE TO BE IN in this town. The way they treat customers makes me think that they deserve nothing less than to be tarred, feathered and run out of town. The ridiculous pricing plus the terrible management of the store makes you feel like they just spit in your face upon leaving. The store smells of body odor EVERY TIME I HAVE BEEN IN THERE, unacceptable. Take your money LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE. Buy illicit drugs with that money, just for the love of god dont spend it in this store.

I then tried to explain that on my budget, having $340 prematurely withdrawn from my account would cause quite the cash-flow problem for me. As all of my bills had been scheduled to be paid the following day, at least 2 of my checks were now going to bounce because of this particular man's incompetency and arrogance. After calmly and politely explaining my situation to the owner, he only became more irate and started yelling and screaming at me, saying inappropriate and hurtful things that no customer should ever have to be subjected to. He finally reluctantly agreed to refund me some of my money, only $306.00, and told me that I should go "F*** myself" if I wanted him to pay for my overages that he caused.

Finally I make my selection, and I am already feeling the urgency to leave the store. The man shows me my subtotal on the register ($34.00) and a I hand him my credit card. The transaction is approved and when I asked for a receipt he said he couldn't print me one. Whatever I thought, I just wanted to take my wine and get on my way.

For a special occasion at the nearby blue point grill bought a $30 bottle of Chablis from them. When opening the bottle the waiter discovered that the neck of the bottle was broken, with glass chipped off and a big crack running down. Took the bottle back, and the guy started explaining to me how bottle necks get broken when opened. I told him the waiter opened it in front of my eyes. “Stop lying to me!” - was the answer. It’s outrageous how this place is still surviving in Princeton. Never liked this place but used them in the past, convenient location. Never again!

After reading the reviews I thought I shouldn't really go to this place, but there were no other place open on Thanksgiving night, so I went there anyway. The people there were actually quite nice and (sometimes too) helpful with the wines. They had a nice selection of red wines, which we ended up buying two. Nice people.
