The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were also nice. We didn't interact much with staff but they were very happy to give us an extended checkout time.
It Stunk of Curry. I will not stay at this hotel again.
At 5am, I was awakened by a man in the room above me who began to sing/chant and talk loudly. I called the front desk to report it. They may have intervened or he may have just finished. Either way, I was awake—two hours before I wanted to be.
The outdoor lock to the corridor leading to the rooms was not working, therefore there was no access control (security). To get to my room I had to walk underneath an awning that was dripping water and that create a puddle that I had to jump across to get in the door. I thought it was residual drainage from a rainstorm, but it remained this way my entire stay.
The room has a nice, larger than average bathroom and a fully functioning air-conditioning unit, which was nice after a long day out. Clarion offers free breakfast every morning, not the greatest but good for a quick meal. The TV had some issues but it wasn't much of a problem. Clarion is near a good number of restaurants and a couple of malls.
When I returned that night, I understood why the A/C was on: the room reeked of mildew. I turned the heat on and burned incense to remedy the smell. I still got a headache as I suffer with seasonal allergies, including sensitivity to mold and mildew.
The room was FREEZING—the A/C was running full blast at 60 degrees. When I left the next day, I complained to the front desk. They offered to move me, but repack and unpack too inconvenient.
The corridor carpet was filthy—it as if it had not been vacuumed for weeks. While the green light displayed when I put my key in the lock, I had to shove my shoulder into the door to force it open.
Dangerous to Health and Safety
Very happy with this hotel for price and inclusions. Better than other similarly rated hotels in the area. Have to go down on my bended knee and thank Clarion for supporting my son and his teammates for several weeks before their college accommodation became available. Provided the room with a kitchen for them. I'm heading back for another stay. I appreciate the wholefoods just down the road for healthy meals, and although the breakfast isn't healthy, it is at least available. Thank you Clarion.
