I left my bike outside for the summer and I brought it to Jay's to get an estimate for fixing it. Not only is my bike in better shape now than even when it was new, the costs were very reasonable and it was done a day early! You guys rock! Thanks so much
Began to shop around for a MTB for my girlfriend and went to a few places before stopping in Jay's. I am in sales and am well versed in etiquette. There is nothing that bothers me more than not being welcomed or acknowledged. Even if you are busy with other clients you say "hello"! That being said, Jennifer was on the floor selling a bike and I understand when you're engaged where your focus needs to be. However, once she had a moment she said hello and was very friendly. Check #1 I liked the vibe I got from her so I began to chime in on the sale going down as being an outsider with no vested interest sometimes lends itself to helping people make a decision. Once Jennifer was finished she began to probe me a bit and asked me if I wanted to "take the bike for a ride" that I was interested in. Check #2 Once I was able to get my bearings straight I began speaking with her about the bike my GF was interested in. As we moved along in the process she was very open and willing to work with me, which in sales is a must. Needless to say we bought from Jay's and Jennifer that day. VERY happy! I then recommended one of my best friends that was in the market to call Jennifer and she was brilliant with him. Check #3 referral business is key! She made the transaction very smooth for him and I appreciate that. Definitely not only gives me confidence to recommend people, but makes me want to shop their again in the future...which I will be doing!
I've bought several bikes from Jay's over the years and have had a great experience every time. Any issues that arise they handle without any hassle. Justin is great to work with.
Super nice and extremely helpful! Answered all my questions. A friend recommended I come to Jay's because they have been coming here for years and have always had good experiences. I totally agree. Love this shop!
Very disappointed last time I went in there. I needed a rear fender for my bike because I was kicking up a lot of dust and rocks into the bike trailer with two of my little ones in it. The young guy helped me find one that fit my bike. It happened to be a used part they had in a big pile of fenders. When we asked the women who seamed to be in charge how much it was she told me she wouldn't sell it to me because it "wasn't for my type of bike". I asked what difference does it make to her what kind of bike I have and she said it was for an electric bike. I asked -so you'll sell the part to someone with an electric bike but not to me? and she answered "yes". One of the other employees accidentally let the truth slip out- he said "how would you feel if you had a $3000 bike and they didn't have spare parts" I guess my $600 bike I bought from them 25 years ago isnt good enough anymore. I had been shopping there for a long time and bought 4 bikes and countless accessories. Jay never treated customers like this. When I was a kid he sent my mom a small refund check after she bought my brother a bike because it went on sale soon after she bought it. He sent her the difference. Thats how you treat customers. I wonder how many of the electric bike customers will be around in 25 years. I wont be back in there.
